Permaculture School Gardens

Every school should have a permaculture garden. A space that functions as a learning garden. A space that sparks curiosity about ecosystems, sustainability, food systems, biodiversity, earth care, energy, seeds, patterns in nature, water conservation, consumption, materials, recycling, regeneration and creating food resilience in cities .

Our permaculture school gardens take on a Wabi-Sabi spirit and style. We replace uniformity with uniqueness. Each garden has an opportunity to tell a story, showcase multiple themes, design elements and ecosystems. We aim to bring a different point of view and take a more organic and regenerative approach to urban food gardens.

We spend time working with teachers to match the space to learning and curriculum objectives. We regenerate soil so that the soil can go on to sequester carbon. We integrate closed loop regenerative food growing methods, biodiversity, composting, vermicomposting, no dig raised beds, urban farming solutions and more.

We believe in supporting a food garden with educational programmes. We work with passionate and skilled technical partners to deliver training for teachers and workshops for students in conjunction with permaculture inspired kits and detailed lesson plans.

  • This was a very enriching session and we gained a lot of knowledge from this. It’s amazing that the nature around us could bring us so much benefit and I’m glad to have learnt it from this workshop.

  • Permaculture is something new to me and it is very inspiring and fascinating to understand what it is. It is something that we see everyday but it isn’t something that we usually discuss about.

  • I would recommend this to other preschools because it transforms our thinking about garden designs and how it can benefit the school and children and community.
